Zax is a very handsome young man who has been labelled a "pretty boy" in the past a great many times, possibly due to his natural charm and charisma as well as his looks. He is possibly mostly renowned for his hairstyle -- a haphazard array of raven-black spikes that are the product of a combination of bedhair and the the odd ruffle he uses to muss it up further it in the mornings to edit the sleep-tousled look a little more. His skin is lightly tanned a faint bronze, and his purple-blue eyes are bright, the emotions within them usually only too readable. His build is muscular and well-sculpted, and he stays in exceptionally good shape with the vigorous training routine Shin-Ra keeps him on.

[PERSONALITY]

Zax is often a very pleasant sometimes bubbly young man, very protective of his comrades, especially Cloud, who he kind of views as a younger brother. He is optomistic and doesn't like to let even negative situations get him down, ever the optomist which is reinforced with his boundless energy and enthusiasm. He thoroughly enjoys his job, though has a tendancy to be a bit of a rogue at times. He has a habit of becoming quite cocky sometimes, but is usually fairly casual and happy-go-lucky, though on-the-job he can be more serious and responsible, ready to follow orders through, despite the roguish tendencies and habits of having to do things his own way. He had a skilled and practised fighting ability and loyalty to his superiors and comrades, with a love for the battlefield. Though it seems, his love isn't for the bloodshed, just for the adrenaline rush and challenge of the fight itself.

[HISTORY]

Born into a middle class family, Zax's passion was always for martial arts. He thrived on it, and became very popular amongst the other children in the neighbourhood, especially the girls, who would sit and giggle while he showed off for them.

At the age of ten, Zax joined a martial arts group designed to teach youngsters the basics of self defence, and excelled in it. He never deliberately started fights, but those that were started on him were very quickly finished. Plenty of practise, by himself and showing off in front of others, with the wooden sword he had made himself, and his skills were becoming more refined, and his weaknesses slowly covering themselves up. By the age of fifteen, his sheer speed, agility, strength and skill had attracted quite a lot of attention in the nearby area... and a fair amount from SOLDIER too.

When offered to join the faction, he literally jumped at the chance, and accepted without a moment's hesitation.

He excelled in SOLDIER as quickly as he had done in the self defence classes, and by the age of seventeen, he was a First Class officer.
